MARKETING PLAN

Joan Cartwright, M.A. is the Founder and Executive Director of WOMEN IN JAZZ SOUTH FLORIDA, INC. Since 1997, Cartwright has presented over 200 presentations of WOMEN IN JAZZ  to more than 6,000 students in Florida, Atlanta, New York, Japan and China. This lecture is part of her book:

The marketing plan is to offer residencies, workshops, lectures, concerts, books and CDs to  Women's Studies, Music Studies, Career Studies, Cultural and Humanities Departments at schools, cultural centers, museums, women's groups and performance venues in the U.S. by a team effort. Each team member handles a city, state or region.

Commissions are based on stipends ranging  from

  • 10% on contracts up to $1,500,

  • 15% on contracts up to $2,500, and

  • 20% on contracts above $2,500.

NOTE: Venue owners and presenters may apply the commission to product (books, cds) or as a donation to their facility.

Minimum stipend is $500 (JC only) per presentation. An additional fee shall be requested for the pianist, band and other women at a minimum of $150 per person.
