5 Local Authors to Showcase at Fort Lauderdale Art Gallery

Ft. Lauderdale, FL  - The South Florida literary community will once again prove the value of unifying and creating opportunities for its constituents on Friday, May 18th, 2007. On this evening, 5 published authors will come together for the 3rd installment of the "Local Author Showcase," which will run from 8:00pm until 11:30pm and will be held at The Uncommon Art Gallery in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Admission is FREE.  The event will feature excerpt readings by each of the authors from their respective books, an open Q&A session with the audience, and a book signing and sale.  The showcase is being hosted, promoted, and produced by Renda Writer, a local event host and artistic enabler for the South Florida creative scene.

The featured authors include: 

1) Susan Schiffrin, author of "Another Time, Another Place, Harry Clinton" 

2) Barbara Silkstone, author of "527 Naked Men & One Woman" 

3) Anson M. Stuart, author of "Runaway Love" & "1st Born" 

4) Latavian Gardner, author of "Trapped for So Long" and 

5) Joan Cartwright, author of "In Pursuit of a Melody."

The Uncommon Art Gallery is a privately-owned art gallery that showcases art and photography from some of the area’s best artists.   It is owned by Michael D. Colanero, himself an established photographer and artist, and an advocate of building a close-knit community of creative types.  He describes his gallery as, "An alternative casual style gallery promoting arts in the area with a collection of images that explore all areas and styles of artistic expression."

Based on the successes of The Local Author Showcase I & The Local Author Showcase II, turnout for this event is expected to be very large.
