Michael B. Mattox
This native New Yorker, living in South Florida, has been a member of the Broward Cultural Affairs Council since 1992. He is a founding member of the African World Artists Collective (AWAC) and a former Board member of the Gold Coast Jazz Society. He works for Nova Southeastern University and loves to travel, especially to Mexico, where he gathers photos and experiences for his articles published in African American Travel Magazine and Essence. His reviews of jazz CDs are in City Link and New Times. He had a radio show spotlighting jazz music in South Florida on WSRF and an urban contemporary gospel show on WAVS. Michael is a visual artist, as well, using the mediums of oil, acrylic and collage.
