Yumnah is a Reiki Master of Usui Shiki Ryoho, The Usui System of Natural Healing, Yumnah began her journey with Reiki in 1987, and has been teaching since 1992, after pre-retiring from the Corporate world. Along with her path of healing, she is a teacher, lecturer, author/writer, spiritual counselor, and teacher of many other ancient sciences but has found her home for spiritual attainment in teaching Reiki.

Her uniqueness lies in her ability to perceive the needs of others. She carries the gift of being the instrument to heal, teach and empower others through the essence of spiritual mastery and compassion which is Reiki - The Usui System of Natural Healing.

Her spiritual path has led her to intense and comprehensive training in the healing folk art and science of Reiki. Through her journey as a Reiki Master, she has found her well of Inner Wisdom and Awareness as well as a sense of a Spiritual Discipline. From that well came her expansion of consciousness. As her gifts began to blend with her knowledge and experience, she became one with a life goal to assist and train others to attain their sense of inner peace, harmony, wellness, balance, and empowerment. Peace! How Reiki Works - The Benefits Reiki is a Japanese word meaning "Universal Life Force Energy", the energy which is all around us. Reiki, when activated and applied for purposes of healing, addresses body, mind, and spirit. It is the laying on of hands -- a self-healing art. It accelerates the body's ability to heal physical ailments and opens the mind and spirit to the causes of disease and pain; the necessity for taking responsibility for one's life and the joys of balanced wellness.

The Usui System of Natural Healing was born out of the experience and dedication of Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese educator who, in the mid-1800s responded to a challenge from his university students by undertaking an extensive study of the healing phenomena of history's greatest spiritual leaders. Through travel, study, research, and meditation, he evolved a healing system based on ancient Buddhist teachings written in Sanskrit. He spent the rest of his life practicing and teaching this method of natural healing, which involved initiation to the energy and the laying on of hands.

The Usui System of Reiki continues to be taught by Reiki Masters who are trained in Usui Shiki Ryoho -- the Usui System of Manual Healing -- the original tradition and whose personal and professional lives are committed to this healing art and the lifestyle which it engenders.

PRIVATE SESSIONS

A Reiki Session consists of four treatments, either consecutively or over a 7 day period is recommended. Sessions are customized to the individual. Each session is approximately one hour and a half. The practitioner's hands are placed very gently on the individual. There are approximately twelve hand positions, and five minutes is spent on each position. For special needs, the positions and time may vary. The individual remains fully clothed at all times. There is no pressure on the body, nor is there any manipulation or massage. The treatment is done on a standard massage table. Reiki is so relaxing most individuals do not talk. Soft, soothing music is usually played during the treatment, though it is not necessary.

The Reiki Practitioner finishes the Reiki session feeling as refreshed and invigorated as the individual. The practitioner is an instrument for the transmission of the Life Force Energy. The practitioner is also experiencing a healing as well as the individual having a treatment.

Reiki can be used to treat a wide variety of conditions, and is particularly good for reducing pain and stress, increasing vitality, and bolstering the individual's outlook. Never interfering with other treatment modalities. Reiki can be a valuable adjunct to the health practitioner in any field.

The individual and the practitioner become more than they were; there is personal growth after any such synergism. Some experience looking younger, more relaxed and moving with ease, others cannot stop smiling for they feel at one with themselves. Sometimes changes take placed many hours after a session. "Experience is the best teacher"!

REIKI CLASSES

Reiki First Degree class usually is taught in four three hour sessions, persons are initiated to the Reiki energy. They learn the history of Reiki, the basic hand positions for self treatment and ways to use Reiki in their own lives and in service to others. The energy initiation occurs in four ceremonial acts shared by the Reiki Master with each student. Class time is provided for students to begin practicing Reiki on themselves and on other students, under the caring supervision of the Reiki Master. The only prerequisites for learning Reiki - The Usui System of Natural Healing - are openness, the desire to learn and the commitment to use Reiki in one's life to heal themselves.

A Reiki Second Degree class is usually taught in four three hour sessions. In this class, persons who have completed Reiki First Degree (a minimum of three months) training and have used Reiki actively in their lives, renew their commitment to the use of Reiki. They are taught the methods evolved by Dr. Usui for sending Reiki at a distance and for furthering the mental, spiritual and emotional healing processes.

Reiki Master candidate apprentice program is a 5 year process, including three years of Reiki First and Second Degree and a Reiki Practice. The Master and Student sit together plan the journey of their Reiki Master apprenticeship.

Interests

Traveling is my most favorite thing to do. I love meeting new people and learning new cultures. I love to play golf, mountain climbing, swimming, beach walking, network through group gatherings, and sharing information. I like most things outdoors. I have low tolerance for cold, however! Hence, I live in Florida! Cooking and trying new recipes is also a favorite pastime! I am always seeking new ways to use our vegetables, grains and nuts. Spiritual Retreats are always a wonderful experience as well as revealing! Teaching the healing arts and sciences truly fulfill me. I am thankful for all the great Blessings and the Grace that is in my life! However, in this new millennium I am learning that it is time to teach me and treat me, and just be! The Sacred Art of Being is key! We are so often "Human Doings" instead of "Human Beings"!
